Give Thanks

Every year at this time, my marketing tip for the week is simply this:

Give thanks.

Yesterday was the American Thanksgiving holiday.  As a dual British-American citizen, Thanksgiving still tops my list as a holiday for its simplicity.

No obligatory gifts. No rushing around last minute. No confusion of whether to believe or not.

Just good food, time with family, and the opportunity to thank God for all of it.Gratitudes journal

A few years ago I read the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. It inspired me to start keeping a gratitudes journal.

I’ve got three journals and am up to item number (hold on, let me check) 4,786 this morning:

“Realising I am content.”

I enjoy looking through my gratitudes list. Things like hope. Doctors. Morning coffee. A warm home when it’s wild out. Ideas. Purple redbud trees. Kindness. Catching the train on time. Clarity. Joy. Mist hanging over the green mountains. Sketchnotes.

No marketing tip today. Just my gratitudes, and hopefully yours, too.

Happy Thanksgiving – no matter where you are in the world.
