As a smaller firm trying to compete against the ‘big boys’ in Ghana, SCG were struggling to stay afloat. They had a website that looked exactly like every other accountancy firm – filled with information about what they can do but no focus on who they as a firm and what makes them different.
They wanted a new website that showed off their love of Xero, cloud accounting and all things tech, their interest in training and helping employees lay sound foundations for building successful careers and their passion for helping businesses grow. They have a number of clients that have more than one service with SCG but they wanted to try and get more of their existing clients to take up more services to increase their spend with SCG.
Together with George and his team, we built a fresh new website and ensured that their brand and imagery really spoke to who they are as a firm. Photos of the team in action were used across the site and we emphasized what’s important to them by showing their 4 pillars – people, process, tech and client focus. We limited their service offering to just their core services and displayed these on their Homepage as well as their Services Page.
A Tech Page was created to show their love and use of tech and we weaved their Xero Silver status throughout their site. A People Page and a Careers Page were created to stress how important their team and training is to them and their interns wrote and published blogs about their experience at SCG as proof of this.
George was very involved in the whole process and committed his time and efforts to ensuring that the key messages used throughout the site really showed off who SCG are as a firm. He realizes the importance of continuous marketing and has since signed up for an outsourced marketing package to be able to add to his website as the need arises and to run various campaigns that will help his business and his clients. He has also joined the social media world – well done George!
SCG are proud of their journey so far as they are one of the top 10 accounting firms in Ghana. They would like to be number 5 in the marketplace and are keen to grow. We are now implementing various marketing campaigns to make this dream a reality.
“I am getting more leads than I normally would get at this time of the year. The one element that has changed in our situation is the website and social media activities. It’s too early to say but if I can get the systems on my side organized, I think we will get a good payback for marketing.” George Katako
