WEBSITE FAQS
Every website we build is unique to the accounting firm reflected by it. At a minimum, every website project includes:
- Custom content, design and development of 5 core pages, such as Home, About, How We Work, Contact
- Blog capability
- Terms and conditions/cookie policy set up (you need to provide these, but we can help!)
- Support for pre and post-launch (including 2 weeks’ website maintenance post launch)
- Regular check-ins with project manager
Ideally, your site will be launched within 3 months from starting, earlier if at all possible.
We’ll need more time from you in the strategy phase (making sure we’re building the right site for you), and in the review phase. Once your page designs are approved we can move to development and get the site launched!
Timings depend on your collaboration & availability, too: things like how quickly you give feedback; whether you need to reschedule arranged meetings; how you meet deadlines. If these are not met your project may be delayed. We recognise that both of us are responsible to keep to that timeline.
We do appreciate that sometimes life happens, and we’ll be patient and let you take the time you need. We’ll help you understand how any delays will impact your launch.
Yes, you can. Although part of your website project with PF will include the actual build of your website, our more important role is to help you dig deep into your ideal client journey so we can craft a website which takes your visitor the perfect journey for you.
This helps speed up the prospect process so by the time they come to you, they already know who you are, how you work and how you can help them.
Your website project quote will include the website build and if you wanted to take your website structure and design elsewhere, you are free to do so.
However, we will note that the development side is one of the smallest parts of the website process, so it may not cut your price as much as you imagine, to outsource this. It can be simpler and faster to have us do it all at one fell swoop. Again, you own the entire site and can have someone else maintain it once launched, if you wish.
To learn more about imagery, take a few minutes to read this blog from one of our designers – ‘How to choose the right stock imagery’, so you understand how we choose stock imagery and why.
The ideal type of photography is real photographs. You can arrange a photographer to do a photoshoot with your team, and PF can support you with this process.
If you’re not sure, talk with us and we’ll help come up with a solution that fits your brand and what’s most appealing to your audience.
Nope, you don’t need to be a content writer! All our website projects include content written for and with you.
Our content team listens to who you are, who you serve, and how you speak: and we craft the words which express this. These words are then given to the designers, who connect the message with the design so the designed pages give the best impression to your ideal audience.
Your opinion is critical, and we’ll ask for it and for your collaboration throughout the project. At times we may ask for you to supply images of yourself and your team, but you don’t have to suddenly become a content writer – and we can guarantee you that if you write it using ChatGPT with no changes, it will simply sound like everyone else.
Our content writers will use ChatGPT and AI to help support, challenge, and adjust any content we create: but ultimately we’re using our collective creative, strategic minds (as well as the vast knowledge we’ve gathered about who you are and who your ideal client is) to craft the messages which will appeal to the kind of clients you love to work with.
Nobody knows your firm like you do. You have the knowledge and story behind your business, and you know how prospects relate to you, so you’ll need to be actively involved and present in your website build.
We bring our expert website and marketing knowledge and experience. Together, we’ll make a great team. We’ll need you to live up to the PF values throughout the website build process.
We will also need these items from you:
1. Team photos: having real photos on your website helps your prospects to build a relationship with you and your team, faster.
2. Terms and conditions and privacy policies: you will need to provide the content. If you don’t have these, we’ll help you get it.
3. Promotional videos: videos are a valuable tool for building relationships and sharing helpful content with potential clients. We encourage you to share at least 1 on your website. We can support you with the strategy and editing of your videos, and we’ll need you to record them.
We will ask for these items from you before we start building your website.
This means we make sure you don’t lose any SEO ‘credit’ you’ve built up until now with your current site.
If you have been working for some time on your SEO and have good rankings you may want to get the SEO migration bolt on. This is especially important if you are changing domain names or and are worried about loss of traffic to the site.
An SEO migration is an action plan covering things like:
• Smart migration date
• Previous site back up
• Organic SEO health check
• Crawl your current site
• Redirect plan inc. updating internal and external linking
• Update google and bing places
• Update xml sitemap
• Update google search console
• Migrate or add schema
• Update robots.txt
• Update backlinks
• Pre and post SEO audits
• Measure SEO performance
If these sound a bit confusing, we’re happy to have one of our SEO experts explain them. Or if you need an SEO training for yourself or your team, let us know.
